About
If you're on the hunt for a culinary gem in Hong Kong's Yuen Long, look no further than Putien (Yoho Mall I). The sprawling eatery, known for its vibrant ambiance and comfortable setting, specializes in offering authentic Fujian cuisine in a modern and relaxing environment. Located on the second floor of Yoho Mall, this restaurant invites diners to experience unique flavors that transport them straight to the heart of Fujian.
Putien's menu is a delightful exploration of various traditional dishes infused with contemporary flair. One standout offering is the PUTIEN Classic Set A for two, featuring an array of delectable items including raised bamboo shoots, clay pot chicken in fermented sauce, fried Heng Hwa bee hoon, and pearl barley with winter melon—all for just HK$528. This set embodies the essence of sharing, allowing you to relish the vibrant tastes of multiple dishes in one sitting.
During a recent visit, my taste buds were tantalized by the One-Person Lunch Set, which includes an exquisite abalone on ice as an appetizer, soup or drink, and a thoughtfully curated main course. The abalone was tender with a refreshing juicy texture, while the famous bian rou soup—a bowl of tiny dumplings accompanied by seaweed—was a comforting revelation. I opted for two different fish dishes, highlighting the culinary creativity of the chefs; one was cooked in just 100 seconds, while the other was delightfully fried with a sweet and sour sauce.
The charm of Putien doesn't stop at the food. Diners frequently rave about the quality and generous portions at reasonable prices. Ronnie Lui mentions his bliss over the spicy oyster dish, emphasizing the hygiene and taste, while Annie Chu applauds the deep-fried Cha Bao for its fluffiness and flavor—a true testament to the kitchen's meticulous craftsmanship. Charlotte Yuk Yung LI acknowledges a couple of deep-fried oyster dishes that didn't meet her expectations, yet the overall dining experience remained positive.
Whether it’s a casual lunch or a special occasion, Putien (Yoho Mall I) encapsulates a delightful dining experience that balances quality, value, and a rich tapestry of flavors. With its enticing offerings, amiable service, and pleasantly relaxed atmosphere, you're certain to leave with a satisfied palate and a heart full of cherished culinary memories. “ This Singapore restaurant is quite big. The environment is relaxing and comfy. We ordered the weekend one-person lunch sets which comes with an abalone on ice for the appetizers, a choice of soup or drink, and a main course. The abalone is very tender and juicy! For the soup, we ordered the famous bian rou soup which comes with tiny dumplings and seaweed. A must try for first timer. For the main course, we ordered two fish dish with rice. They are quite special as one of the fish is cooked for only 100 seconds and the other fish is fried with sweet and sour sauce. The cabbage rice is quite good too. The lunch set is $138 each, not cheap compared to restaurants nearby. ”
“ Excellent lunch for two - great portions and taste. The Cha Bao was excellent - deep fried but not greasy, and the inside of the bun was ever so fluffy. Love the variety and value for money ”
“ Like other Putien, food, service and environment are nice. However, we ordered two oyster dishes recommended by the waiter. Both were deep-fried. I didn't like them. ”
“ Oysters at Putien are my favourite. I don’t have to be worried about the hygiene of the them, and eat carefree! This time I had a spicy oyster dish, and I was wowed by it! The other signature dishes I tried were also very delicious. Dad and I enjoyed the meal a lot! Can’t wait to visit again. ”
“ Good food at affordable prices. Portions are a good size to try a wider range of dishes. ”
“ Highly recommend Tofu Veggie Soup, the seasonal dishes and the signature noodle ”
